AFRISUN-HRCSA^® CREVICE PENETRANT SEALANT is a low VOC crevice penetrant which protects metal crevices against the formation of Crevice Corrosion, where corrosion always starts first. Spray all your industrial assets with the extender tube inserted into the actuator. Seal electrical infrastructure (de-energized during application), HVAC systems, heavy equipment, solar panel mounting assemblies and structural sections/joints where clamped together. This product prevents the need to dismantle your assets and offers you the most practical solution on the market due to ease of application in aerosol packaging with the extender tube inserted into the actuator to maximize the product’s penetrating and wetting-out ability into crevices being treated.

AFRISUN-HRCSA^® CREVICE PENETRANT SEALANT provides long-lasting protection of steel assets that are exposed to corrosive environments. The proprietary blended aerosol AFRISUN-HRCSA^® CREVICE PENETRANT SEALANT is hydrophobic and expels moisture when sprayed into metal crevices and also excludes oxygen from crevices. The UV stable AFRISUN-HRCSA^® CREVICE PENETRANT SEALANT is sprayed into weathered crevices over firmly adherent rust and coatings as well as new crevices as a final application. Over-sprayed product must be wiped off using clean cloth and Mineral Turpentine.  

The air and surface temperature shall be less than 53° C and the weather conditions shall be such that the treated areas shall not be subjected to rain or water contact for a 4 hour period after application.

Ambient temperatures must remain at least 3⁰ C above Dew Point and rising during application. Material should not be applied when the Relative Humidity exceeds 90% or the substrate temperature is higher than 53⁰ C.

The low viscosity crevice penetrating sealant is intended for use as a penetrating sealer for jointed or bolted areas of steel items mentioned above, which are subject to Pack Rust, Bimetallic Corrosion and Differential Aeration Corrosion. Apply into the affected area with the supplied pipe attached to the nozzle of the aerosol can and excess product needs to be wiped off with clean cloth and Mineral Turpentine.

Deposit enough AFRISUN-HRCSA^® CREVICE PENETRANT SEALANT to thoroughly wet out crevices or joints. Spray into the upper edge of all joints first, working down the sides of the joint from the top to the bottom, propelling the material into the joint. Moisture will be displaced from the joint (vertical) and should be allowed to exit freely from the bottom of the joint area then wipe off with clean cloth and Mineral Turpentine. 

NOTE: When spraying into horizontal joints, please ensure that excess product around the joint is wiped clean with clean cloth and Mineral Turpentine. Joint geometries vary widely, and it is not the intent of this Specification to address the application of each joint type. The end user must evaluate individual joint geometries to determine the best method of applying this product to achieve the optimal joint coverage using the basic principles listed above.

All surfaces to be clean, free of all grease, oil, loose and flaking particles using Mineral Turpentine and compressed air if needed.

Surfaces must be totally dry before spraying AFRISUN-HRCSA^® CREVICE PENETRANT SEALANT. Do not apply over Bitumous and Silicone coatings.

Shake can well before spraying. Turn can upside down and spray to clear actuator and extender tube after use.
